Silverthorne, Gateway to Summit County, is one of the newest communities, but don't let that fool you, there is plenty to do and see. The Blue River runs through town and is known for its kayaking, white water rafting and most of all the gold medal fly fishing. A few minutes from town you can enjoy mountain vistas while playing at the Three Peaks Raven Golf Course, or a short drive brings you to world class skiing.
Situated at a lower elevation you will find milder winters in the town and surrounding valley communities. Shopping is its claim to fame. Visit over 70 brand name shops at the Silverthorne Factory Outlets. A state of the art Recreation Center will keep you in shape with its pools, tracks, classes and weight rooms. Planning a wedding or a party? The Silverthrone Pavillion, located on the banks of the Blue River will provide a perfect setting.
Above Silverthorne is the high mountain community of Wildernest, surrounded by mile of National Forest, but, close to activities and away from the bustle of town. Go north of town and you enter the relm of ranches and acreage. Horse lovers abound. Far off vistas dominate the scene.
